“I’m Back” – ACT

Ever since COVID-19 reshaped life as we know it, high schoolers all over the world have been wondering about the future of ACT and SAT tests. College Board canceled the SAT test that was scheduled for June 6th, but after recent announcements by the ACT, it looks like the ACT test scheduled for June 13th is going forward!

So how will that test actually work? Great question. We don’t really know. The ACT will roll out their logistical plan in the coming weeks and we’ll all have a better handle on how the test will be administered without putting students at risk of COVID019.

In the meantime, all of you students have less than one month to get ready! If you’ve been practicing and keeping your skills sharp, great. If not, you still have time, but you’ll need to start acting now. Start by using all the free resources you can to brush up on your skills. The ACT site offers free practice tests and problems through their ACT Academy, so that’s a great place to start.

Outside of your ACT skills, make sure you have all the tools you need to be successful. Get a calculator that is ACT approved (here’s the list). Get your favorite water bottle to keep your refreshments nice and cold (or warm). And get yourself a watch that will help you actually finish the sections on time! Order the watch now so you have a few weeks to practice with it. You’ll be amazed at how much of a difference a simple watch can make to your overall score and state of mind on test day.

Stay tuned for more updates. As soon as the ACT offers more information, we’ll let you know!
